End of term arrangements

8 June 2020 (by admin)

Dear parents and carers,

We have been so impressed with how well the children have settled in school and are trying to look at ways we will be able to admit more pupils into school if told to do so by the Department for Education.

In the meantime, we will continue to provide live lessons via Zoom for all year groups.  Mrs Cservenka does not work on Fridays and so Year 6 will be provided with a recorded sessions as Miss Cox will be in class.

We are busy making preparations for the end of term and for next year.  We will be sending out the new class lists on 13th July so you will find out who your child will have next year.

The children will then be taught via zoom in their new classes on the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th July in the morning.  This does mean that the bubbles for Year 1 and FS may change for the last two weeks of term as both of the year group teachers will be zooming into their classrooms with their new class.

We will also be holding parents information sessions via Zoom on the 15th, 16th and 17th afterschool.  The exact timings will be released nearer the time.  These will be sessions for parents to find out about the year group expectations and to meet the teacher.

We want to continue with the brilliant learning that has taken place since the lockdown.  Over the Summer your child will be invited to take part in the ‘Summer Superhero Challenge’.  This will be on our website and will involve you and your child completing set videos for mathematics and english at different stages.  Each stage will have 5 videos for mathematics and english aimed at the same level and based on the core concepts within the curriculum.  Once the videos are completed, you can move onto the next stage until you reach as high as possible.  We do not expect pupils to all get to the top stage but to go as high as they can.

This means that the inset day initially scheduled for 1 June has been moved to the 22nd July during which the videos will be finalised and compiled. As a result the school will be closed to pupils on 22nd July and no zoom sessions will take place.

Further information about all of the transition arrangements will be issued in the next few weeks and so please do check your emails regularly.

Thank you for your continued support
