We have had a good sleep and are looking forward to a morning of activities today before returning back to school this afternoon and seeing you all. Pick up will be at the normal time from school. Please can you sign for any medication you handed in to us when you pick up your child. We look forward to seeing you later and telling you all about our trip.
We have had another super day today. We have been holding chickens, making fires, travelling on crates and climbing over the mighty challenge wall. We are really proud of the children for pushing themselves beyond their comfort zone, and they enjoyed themselves drinking the hot chocolate they made from the water they boiled. Now- fiesta night! See you tomorrow!
We arrived safely and are having a great time. We have already fired balls using sling shots, balanced a giant ball above our heads and build land rafts. Ravenous children enjoyed their jacket potato lunches and ice lollies! All the children then went happily to their dorms and much fun was had making beds! We will try and get some photos on the website later tonight, after 8.00pm. See you all soon.
Year 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 have been using TT Rockstars this year to learn and practice their times tables. They were excited to organise a TT Rockstars House Team battle before the end of the term, so we have arranged this for next week. From 9.00am Monday morning next week, until 3.00pm on Thursday, the children can collect points for their house teams by playing on TT Rockstars. The team with the most points will have an extra break on Friday afternoon to celebrate.
The children will have access at school to play TT Rockstars at various points during the day next week, but they may also collect points by playing at home too. The competition will be open each day between the house of 7.30am and 7.30pm, once the competition starts on Monday, so please feel free to encourage your child to have a go at home too.
We will let you know how we get on, and good luck to all the house teams!
We ran two events using online maths subscription sites this week to celebrate World Maths Day. Very well done to years 3 and 5 for their 'Top of the Rock' battles against St Bede's in times tables. The top three children in each class have received certificates. Also, well done to the 1000 Point Club members from years 4 and 5 who completed 20 challenges on Mathletics. Alex was highest in year 4 and Emily was highest in year 5. Finally, year 6 also competed in the Mathletics challenge and the highest scorer was Samuel. In this event, Fairfields came 138th in the world and 41st in the country!
